ATTENTION SENIORS

SENIORS GOING ON THE SENIOR TRIP MUST ATTEND A MANDATORY MEETING ON WED, FEB 1st during 1ST PERIOD.
ATTENTION STUDENTS: Homeroom assignments for Tuesday JANUARY 31, 2012

Students should determine where their names fall alphabetically on the list of assignments and report to the designated rooms on Tuesday, January 31 only. Please print out the list of assignments and bring it to school on the first day of classes.

Susan Wagner HS hosts 12th annual International Festival

SENIOR PROM 2012

Prom applications will be available for pick up beginning Tuesday, Jan 17th.

Seniors who have paid their senior dues and have no outstanding book accounts can receive their prom applications in the Falcons Nest.

Applications will be availabe on an ongoing process through March 30th.

Seniors who paid dues online and still have not provided their online receipt, MUST bring in the electronic confirmation in order to receive an application.

Prom will cost $135 per person. Payment can only be made via a money order; payable to SEWHS. Payments will only be accepted on Monday, April 23 and Monday, April 30th. NO SENIOR DUES OR BOOK ACCOUNT ACTIVITY WILL BE CONDUCTED ON THOSE DAYS.

There will be no payments accepted for prom after APRIL 30th. All applications and table reservations must be done on either of those aforementioned days.

Prom is May 18th at the Staten Island Hilton and begins at 7:00pm and ends at midnight. Students will NOT BE ALLOWED to leave until 11:00pm.

On the Family Connection homepage, look under "resources" and click on "Method Test Prep." This will bring you to an excellent online resource for practice, lessons and quizzes that will prepare your student to take the SAT or ACT.

Principal's Message

My best wishes for a joyous Holiday Season and a Healthy and Happy New Year.  The holiday season offers a wonderful opportunity for our Susan E. Wagner High School family to bring holiday cheer to others.  Wagner students in each of our Learning Centers, as well as our Student Government, have been performing community service throughout the fall term and are conducting food, clothing and toy drives for the holiday season.  This is a reflection of the overwhelming caring and generosity of our students, parents and staff.  Our gifted Music Academy students displayed their talents on the Wagner stage on December 7th and 8th.  This program highlighted our Symphonic, Concert, Jazz and Intermediate Bands, Guitar Ensembles, Chorus and Theater students.  Additionally, the wonderful work of our Visual Arts students was on display for all to enjoy.  Finally, the Institute for the Theatrical Arts once again out did themselves and made Broadway proud with the holiday production of Annie. 

The final marking period of the fall term is now well underway and our Wagner High School students are not only excelling in the classrooms but in extra-curricular activities as well.  Our clubs and sports teams continue to thrive.  Sing 2012 was an outstanding success.  Congratulations to our Seniors.  Wagner’s production of “Frankenstein” was a box office hit.  The Wagner Marching Band continues to be a big hit at all Staten Island parades.  Work on our new athletic field is on schedule and additional facilities upgrades, including resurfacing parking lots and sidewalks will take place summer 2012.  Additionally, our sports teams recorded the following accomplishments:

Congratulations to Coach Al Paturzo, on earning the most victories in PSAL Football History with 203 wins

Girls Soccer made the quarter finals in the playoffs

Girls Cross Country Track placed first in the Borough Championships

Girls Sophomore Cross Country Track were City Champs

Girls Volleyball were City semi-finalists

Girls Golf were semi-finalists in the playoffs

 Boys Junior Varisty Football

As we enter the holiday season, it is important that we pause to take into account everything we are thankful for in our lives.  I am fortified by the knowledge that our continued partnership will further our efforts to help our students reach their full potential.
